Providing Everything You Need To Catch Fish On The Fly
Fish on the Fly
The River -
Blue Water. Green Moss. Brown Trout. We will be fishing the storied waters of the Little Red River, outside of Heber Springs, Ar. These waters are full of wild brown, rainbow, and cutthroat trout. It is a tailwater fishery, and the amount of generation from the dam will dictate the flows on any given day. So we'll be starting from a boat, but wade options are certainly available with the right flows.
The Goals -
#1) Catch Fish! The tactics I employ vary on a day-to-day basis, so we will fish to the fish based on ANY skill level or condition. However, if you'd like to get specific..

My goal as a guide goes far beyond putting a client on some fish. For the beginner/novice angler, I want you to leave at the end of the trip with new-found knowledge of the habits of trout and the tactics that we use catch them; so that it may serve as building blocks to become a better angler on the fly.
For the intermediate/advanced angler the goals can vary a little more depending on the angler's choosing. Do you want to learn how to tightline/euro nymph? Or some technical dry fly fishing? Or try to bring down the giant with an articulated streamer?

For the kids - make it fun! This is for kids that have or have not fly-fished. We will focus not only on the fish, but the environment that surrounds them as well. We will work on casting, presenting the fly, and the proper techniques of catching and landing a fish. Along with that we will learn about the vast amount of aquatic and insect life the trout feed on and live amongst. At the end of the trip I will leave them with some flies, leader, and info to help keep them going.

For EVERY angler -
There is little more rewarding than to catch a fish on a fly. As an angler, you are so much more involved in the process that adds a much deeper connection to nature and the environs in which we are so fortunate to chase them. Fish on.

Fin+fly+kid
A program for kids ages 8 - 18+ to focus on their fishing skillset; from casting and presenting a fly to knot-tying and and how to read water. But most importantly, teach them about the water and wilderness that surrounds the fish.
Further, its also about teaching the parents of the kids how to be involved with them on the water by teaching them the skills in putting together your own memorable trip- from the water you choose, fishing gear, clothing, and all of the little things that can make a big difference in enjoying the outdoors with your child.

Depending on age range and goals, we offer trips from 2hr, 4hrs, or 6hrs. (The younger the kid, the shorter the trip should be.) Snacks and drinks (for kids and adults) will be provided on 4hr+ trips.
